Why does Pride Month take place in June? It goes back to June 28, 1969, when police raided a gay club called the Stonewall Inn in New York. During a White House briefing on May 31, President Joe Biden proclaimed June 2022 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Pride Month. As with past years, you can also join the celebration virtually. 2022 marks the 52nd celebration of Pride Month, and you can participate by attending festivals and parades. Pride Month events are taking place across the country throughout June so people can come together in support of the LGBTQ communities.
